'I love the product': Deezer appoints Laurence Miall-D'Aout as chief commercial officer

Deezer has appointed Laurence Miall-D’Aout as its chief commercial officer.

Miall-D’Aout will be responsible for Deezer’s B2B activities around the world, including local and global partnerships, business development and advertising sales, as well as public relations. The appointment is effective April 2.

She joins Deezer from Liberty Global, the world’s largest cable company, where she worked for the past three years as VP, advanced data and advertising. In her role, she oversaw the launch of new advertising models and partnerships.

“Laurence brings a wealth of commercial experience and a long track record in ad monetisation, partnership strategies and business growth,” said Hans-Holger Albrecht, CEO of Deezer. “I’m excited to welcome her to our senior management team and look forward to working with her to accelerate our growth across the world.”

“I have been a Deezer user for the last four years and love the product,” said Miall-D’Aout. “It’s a great time to join the company. Music streaming is already the most popular way to consume music and this is only going to continue to grow. We have lots of opportunities ahead of us and I look forward to being part of that journey together with the rest of Deezer’s team.”

Prior to Liberty Global, Miall-D’Aout was the CEO at marketing start-up TVbeat. She also spent over 10 years at Modern Times Group in various roles, including as EVP of FreeTV, co-MD of the UK operations and CEO of PayTV in Russia and CEE.

Deezer recently appointed Tarek Mounir as CEO for the Middle East, North Africa (MENA) and Turkey region with a brief to build the B2B and advertising business.
