Pandora set for Snapchat integration in the US

Snap Kit

Snapchat have announced plans to intergrate Pandora into the social network.

Snap Kit will allow users to send songs within the social network that will play out via the US streaming service.

Users will be able to send a track to their friends and family using song cards that feature album artwork on an animated background, which the recipient will be able to listen to directly on Pandora.

"This will be a powerful and comprehensive social integration with music," said Pandora’s chief product officer Chris Phillips. "The Snapchat product experience and user base are primed for sharing, and our collaboration will provide a creative and compelling way to discover and enjoy music in a way that's intuitive to Snapchatters."

The new functionality will be rolled out in the next few weeks for American users of Snapchat.

"We're always looking for more ways to bring Snapchat into the world and the world into Snapchat," said Jacob Andreou, vice president of product for Snap Inc. "With their vast music library, Pandora's partnership with Snap Kit will help us make it easier and more fun for Snapchatters to share the music they love."

At this year's Midem conference, Snapchat was identified as a key route to access under 25 year-old music fans.
