Tidal appoints new CEO: report

Tidal has appointed former Kobalt Music Group president Richard Sanders as CEO, according to reports in the US.

Sanders left Kobalt in May after five years. He was previously president of global marketing for Sony Music.

Variety revealed that the Jay-Z owned streaming service had made the appointment, which would be its fourth CEO in just over two years. Jeff Toig left the company in March.

Tidal, which launched in 2015, recently partnered with mobile operator Sprint, which took a 33% stake in the company. Jay-Z's 4:44 album was released as an exclusive for Tidal/Sprint customers in June.

The digital streaming service was recently embroiled in a dispute with Kanye West over payments owed for his The Life of Pablo album.
