Attitude is Everything is excited to announce an opportunity to join our growing team and lead on a new area of work for our organisation. Our new Artist Development Programme has been made possible by an uplift in our Arts Council England funding as a Sector Support Organisation.
Our research shows that Deaf and disabled artists face multiple barriers to performing in the mainstream through lack of profile, inaccessible backstage areas and minimal opportunities to network with promoters. In response, we now intend to launch a programme that will allow us to deliver:
- Research into the barriers facing Deaf and disabled artists when seeking to hone their stage craft and perform live.
- Support, showcasing and networking opportunities for professional Deaf and disabled musicians who wish to work more frequently in a greater range of places.
- Guidance to venues and promoters that wish to diversify their programming, including improved resources to support accessibility backstage and the creation of accessible touring networks.
- Support and professional development for Deaf and disabled music promoters.
This role would be perfect for anyone with a deep passion for live music, a keen interest in working to achieve equality of opportunity, and a proven track-record supporting artists to develop their careers.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2 years of project management experience, good understanding of the UK’s grassroots and DIY music scenes, and personal experience of putting on live events.
