PPL's Peter Leathem hails record international payout

In the new issue of Music Week, PPL chief executive Peter Leathem reveals that he is confident of continued “global growth” in neighbouring rights revenue in the wake of a record quarterly international payment to members.

Global performance royalties paid out in September totalled £18.5 million, an increase of 3% on the previous largest quarterly payment of £17.9m in September 2016.

While currency fluctuations have been “very helpful”, Leathem said the record payout reflects the organisation’s continued success ...
