Harry Styles named Best Live Act at O2 Silver Clef Awards

Harry Styles has been crowned the winner of the Best Live Act Award ahead of today’s O2 Silver Clef Awards.

Sponsored by Ticketmaster and Live Nation, it is the only award at the event to be voted for by the public. Styles received 60% of the vote to come out on top ahead of 10 other nominees, including Adele, Stormzy, Iron Maiden and Ed Sheeran, who performed in the UK between March 2017 and March 2018.

The awards, which raise money for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, take place this afternoon at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

Andrew Parsons, MD of Ticketmaster UK, said: “Harry Styles is a global sensation who won the hearts of many in One Direction and continues to do so in his solo career, so it’s not surprising that he has earned the title of Best Live Act. It’s great to see such support for the British star after his record-breaking debut album and world tour – this award is thoroughly deserved.”

Styles, who has held the title of Best Live Act twice in 2013 and 2016 as part of One Direction, is currently on his debut world tour as a solo act. Previous winners include Sir Paul McCartney (2011), Arctic Monkeys (2015) and Little Mix (2017).

Nordoff Robbins has already announced the first wave of other winners at the O2 Silver Clef Awards 2018. Roger Waters and Robert Plant will receive the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Award and the Integro Outstanding Award respectively. Stereophonics, the American Express Icon Award, Jorja Smith, the Amazon Music Best Newcomer Award, Ellie Goulding, the Liz Hobbs Best Female Award, George Ezra, the AEG Presents Best Male Award, The Script, the Raymond Weil International Award, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, the PPL Classical Award and Bastille, the Sky Best Group Award.
