Skiddle to sponsor Live Music Promoter category at Music Week Awards

Events guide and ticketing company Skiddle has been unveiled as sponsor of the hotly-contested Live Music Promoter category at next month's Music Week Awards.

Last year's winner Kilimanjaro Live is vying for the honour alongside AEG Presents, DHP Family, Live Nation, Music Plus Sport, Senbla and SJM Concerts.

"It's a huge honour to sponsor the Live Music Promoter Award and be associated with such a talented and innovative group of creatives," said a spokesperson for Skiddle, which opened a London office earlier this week following a record year of growth. "In an industry constantly in flux and under threat, is it not only encouraging - but vital - to celebrate and champion the tireless work promoters undertake.

"Skiddle has been working in the music industry for nearly 20 years and have built strong and valuable relationships with large scale and grassroots promoters across the UK. It's a stressful and often unappreciated profession, so we are delighted the promoters nominated today have their moment in the spotlight and are recognised and appreciated for their work in music."

Hosted by  BBC Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley, the ceremony will be held at Battersea Evolution on May 9. Tickets are available here.

YouTube Music is the headliner sponsor of the Music Week Awards 2019. Other sponsors already announced include Marshall (Best Festival), PPL (Best Radio Station), MQA (social media sponsor) and ERA (Best Independent Retailer). To join them in sponsoring the music business' biggest and best night out, email Ryan O'Donnell on ryan.odonnell@futurenet.com.
