'We're proud to amplify success stories from our industry': MQA join Music Week Awards 2019 as official social media sponsor

The Music Week Awards – the biggest and best night out in the music industry calendar – returns to reward the stellar achievements of the UK music biz on Thursday, May 9. And we are delighted to announce that MQA have returned as our official social media sponsor.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Mike Jbara, MQA CEO: “We're proud to continue MQA’s support of the Music Week Awards and amplify the success stories from another stellar year for our music industry partners. This is an exciting time of growth, innovation and exceptional artistry.”

Entries are now closed for the Music Week Awards 2019, but the finalists have been revealed.

Ben Cook’s Atlantic will be fighting to retain their Record Company title after another strong performance in 2018, including the breakthrough success of Anne-Marie. Atlantic is up against fellow Warner Music label Warner Bros Records, along with Columbia, Decca, Polydor, RCA and Virgin EMI.

Elsewhere, Polydor’s Tom March and Ben Mortimer are in the running to retain the A&R Award following a successful 2018 – but nine other big labels and publishers are in contention, including Atlantic, Columbia, Dirty Hit, Island, Partisan, Reservoir, Syco Music, Warner Bros and Warner/Chappell.

Another key category is Festival Of The Year. Given that there was no Glastonbury last year, the category is more open than ever, with AEG’s newcomer All Points East up against events including Download, Isle Of Wight Festival, Meltdown, Reading & Leeds Festivals, Tramlines and Wireless.

Suffice to say that, with our new venue Battersea Evolution offering an increased capacity and a more versatile room, and with YouTube Music as our official sponsors, the stage has been set for us to put on our best show yet.

You can see the full list of winners from last year here and don’t forget to revisit some of the best moments of the night.
