We’re excited to bring you ‘Let It Out’ by Tokyo-based indie-rockers DYGL (pronounced day-glo.) The track comes as a B-side to upcoming single ‘Let It Sway,’ set for a worldwide release via Hard Enough. The single was produced by Albert Hammond Jr, famed for his work as The Strokes’ guitarist, in collaboration with The Strokes’ producer Gus Oberg. Albert said about DYGL's album, “My favorite record I’ve produced with Gus. Love it! One of our favorite records of the last couple years.”.
Nobuki Akiyama (vocal & guitar), Kohei Kamoto (drums), Yotaro Kachi (bass), and Yosuke Shimonaka (guitar), have had a colourful touring schedule and are looking forward to their upcoming UK shows at Birthdays in London and The Hope & Ruin, Brighton. DYGL self released their first EP in 2015, EP #1, followed by Don’t Know Where It Is in 2016 and later that year produced 2 new songs, releasing a 7-inch record Waste of Time - mixed, recorded and mastered by Aaron Dobos (Avalanches) Their touring schedule has taken them to Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, and China, culminating in a total of 34 concerts in 32 cities.
‘Let It Out’ is a dynamic, purposeful work by a band coming into its own. DYGL’s atmospheric indie rock sound borrows from the likes The Strokes, The Kooks and Arctic Monkeys, and while they may be painting with colours that have been used by others, the images they create are fully their own, celebrating the joys of making records that can fill a dancefloor.
