Kylie Minogue to headline BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park

Today (June 15), it has been confirmed that Kylie Minogue will headline BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park. The annoucement was made live on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

In April, Golden, Kylie Minogue’s new album with BMG, became her first No. 1 in eight years. With opening week sales of 48,000, according to the Official Charts Company, it was hailed as “a real statement” by Alistair Norbury, president, repertoire & marketing, BMG UK. Golden has sold 93,067 copies to date.

Yesterday, Carrie Underwood, All Saints, Rita Ora, Lenny Kravitz, Band of Love and Manic Street Preachers were all confirmed to play the event, which is held on Sunday September 9 in Hyde Park, London.

BBC Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park will be presented by Radio 2 presenters such as Ken Bruce, Jo Whiley, Simon Mayo, Jeremy Vine, Sara Cox, Claudia Winkleman, Trevor Nelson, Gary Davies, Michael Ball, Kate Bottley, OJ Borg, Anneka Rice, Angela Scanlon, Bob Harris, Johnnie Walker, Ricky Wilson, and more.

The festival is scheduled to be broadcast on Radio 2 from 1pm-9.30pm. Fans will also be able to watch the event live on the BBC Red Button TV channel, BBC iPlayer and via the Radio 2 website. Footage will be available to watch for 30 days on BBC iPlayer.
