Tributes have been paid to Sir Ken Dodd, who has died aged 90.
As well as being one of the most popular and enduring British comedians, Sir Ken was a chart star in the 1960s and 1970s.
His 1965 hit Tears is in the Top 40 biggest-selling singles of all time. The run of hits started in 1960 with Love Is Like A Violin, which peaked at No. 8. He also made the Top 10 with The River and Promises.
Tributes have been paid by the BPI and venues that hosted the comedy star.
