Making Waves: Mullally

Making Waves: Mullally

Each week, Music Week profiles a brilliant brand new artist. Our latest act is neo-soul singer Mullally...

KEY TRACK: Sweet Coffee (feat. Bassette)
LABEL: Black Diamond/Atlantic
MANAGEMENT: Do Entertainment Group
TWITTER: @mullallymusic

WHO? Connor Mullally-Knight.

WHAT? Neo-soul seems the canniest description, and tracks like Sweet Coffee and Spotify favourite Wonderful – which has almost four million plays – bend a classic genre in new directions.

WHERE: After signing his record deal, Mullally moved from Gorleston, Norfolk (where an injury halted a promising rugby career) to London.

BET HE’S GLAD HE CHOSE MUSIC?

Mullally is a hot prospect for Atlantic in 2018. Those at the top will have Ed Sheeran or Sam Smith-style success in the crosshairs.

WHAT ARE HIS CHANCES?

The omens are good: Mullally hustled for gigs with his teenage ska band and studied at Access Creative College, following Rita Ora and, yes, Sheeran. He’s now working with legendary producer Darkchild (Destiny’s Child).

SOUNDS EXCITING…

Yes. Expect an album this year, while Mullally plays London’s Oslo on June 12.
