Data, talent and revolution: How Viberate can change the way the industry does business

UMEK is on a mission to revolutionise how the music industry uses data. The superstar Slovenian DJ and producer co-founded music research and analytics platform Viberate alongside his managers, with a singular aim to build an invaluable resource for the music business, in the same way IMDB Pro is for the cinema world

Simply, Viberate’s hub of data - collected from every major social media, streaming and music channel - allows users to determine how artists, labels and festivals are performing online, using stats and rankings to measure impact. Viberate allows users to identify trends, spot breaking talent and offers unique insight into different genres and markets across the globe. Its dashboard function houses data all in one place, so many artists and labels already use it as the go-to tool for monitoring stats and planning their next career steps

At a time when billions of pounds are invested in A&R and marketing every year, the market is increasingly congested, but Viberate’s remit is to ensure that no new talent goes unnoticed

"Viberate is the ultimate dashboard for your music project,” says Russian EDM producer Oleg Belousov. “It provides a lot of information in a very useful way, plus, there are charts showing your ranks by genre and country."

Techno act Lie Society, meanwhile, says: “Viberate has been essential to my growth and planning as an artist. I’m there multiple times a week.”

Trance producer Scorch Felix adds: “Viberate helps me map my release schedule and monitor my overall career movement, you instantly get to see where you need to pay more attention."

Viberate’s vision is to encompass the entire music industry by 2025

On the industry side, Jay Gilbert, founder of digital services business Label Logic, has described Viberate as a “must - have tool for artists, managers, labels and agents”.

The company’s team boast more than two decades of music industry experience, and UMEK previously founded his own label, 1605, with the sole aim of helping new talent gain a foothold in the industry. As his time in music has gone on, so the business has evolved, and Viberate offers a unique opportunity for users to cut through the online noise and make better business decisions that can help push the music industry forwards.

Viberate’s vision is to encompass the entire music industry by 2025, providing a tool that’s equally valuable to major companies as independent start ups or entrepreneurs. A&R executives, for example, can simply search for and research any artist they’re interested in, comparing acts and their stats side by side while listening to samples of their music. The platform’s ‘follow’ button allows users to track artists’ progress and monitor audience development.

With more than 20,000 registered contributors as part of the community helping to populate its ever-growing database, Viberate is already making waves in the industry. It partners with the Miami-based International Dance Music Awards, using its popularity metrics to help shortlist the artist categories at the ceremony. And with the industry leaning into data and analytics more than ever, UMEK’s creation is on track to become an essential resource for all areas of the music business. “Data is the new gold in this day and age,” UMEK has said. “And music isn’t immune to that trend…”

Viberate is currently offering a free 30-day trial of its Premium plan.
