Xite-ed for streaming

Music video streaming service, Xite, is now available exclusively for users in the UK and Ireland via Samsung Tizen Smart TVs. 

“We are always looking to bring the greatest experience to our customers,” said vice president of TV/AV, Samsung Electronics Guy Kinnell. 

Just Audoo it

PRS for Music Chairman, Nigel Elderton, has joined the board of British music technology company, Audoo, as it aims to optimise royalty distribution of music being played in commercial spaces to ensure artists and songwriters are paid fairly and accurately.

With Elderton on board, Audoo aims to streamline current data-entry processes by deploying a smart plug-in device in commercial spaces, such as shops, cafés and bars.

Swedish success

The Swedish collection society, STIM, has reported a continued growth in revenue and overall demand for Swedish music. 

“STIM was well-prepared for this development and our international company, ICE has been equipped for meeting increased internationalisation and growth in direct licensing of streaming services,” said Karsten Dyhrberg Nielsen, CEO of STIM. “All of this to ensure that our affiliates obtain revenue from the online market, which is a strategically important area. Over the last five years, revenue has increased substantially and last year, growth of digital music services was 7%.”

Virtual Monster

Social VR platform Sansar has partnered with EDM label Monstercat.

"Partnerships like these help us realise the very best of what virtual reality has to offer: access, connection, immersion - the feeling that we’re part of something bigger, no matter who we are or where we live,” says Ebbe Altberg, CEO of Linden Lab. 

Balvin Bunny

Bad Bunny and J Balvin have dropped a collaborative album, Oasis. The release includes features by Mr. Eazi and Marciano Cantero.
