Songtradr has acquired creative licensing agency Big Sync Music.
Headquartered in London, with additional teams in Singapore and New York, Big Sync sources music for local, regional and worldwide advertising campaigns on behalf of household brands. Clients include Dove, Knorr, Magnum, Johnnie Walker, Samsung, Amazon and Lipton.
Songtradr is a fully automated music licensing marketplace with over 400,000 artists and catalogues from 190-plus countries. It develops real-time data intelligence, including streaming and social media metadata to guide the licensing process.

The acquisition was a multi-million dollar cash and equity transaction. It resulted in Big Sync’s co-founder, Unilever Ventures, the venture capital arm of Unilever, exiting and becoming a minority shareholder in Songtradr.
Big Sync will continue to provide independent music supervision, composition, licensing and rights management services to its clients.
