Streaming surge sets up stellar 2017 for music biz

BPI chief Geoff Taylor has hailed the power of streaming in driving the market “back towards growth”, after BPI and ERA year-end figures showed a significant rise in music consumption.

According to the BPI, a total of 44.9 billion audio streams were clocked last year, up 67.5% on 2015 and now accounting for 36.4% of all UK music consumption.
