Ed Sheeran to headline Glastonbury

Ed Sheeran has been revealed as the third and final headliner of Glastonbury 2017.

Confirming the long-rumoured news via Instagram post, the singer announced he will close the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday night of this year's festival. He joins Radiohead and Foo Fighters in topping the bill.

Sheeran made his Glastonbury debut in the Croissant Neuf tent 2011 and last played the event in 2014. The date will be his only festival appearance of 2017. The 26-year-old heads out on a UK arena tour next month.

Tickets for this year's Glastonbury sold out in 50 minutes in October. There will be a resale of returned tickets at 6pm on April 14. Full line-up details are expected to be released in the next few weeks.
