Syncing out loud: Music Week Sync Awards 2018 are go

It's the biggest and best awards ceremony in the sync sector – and today Music Week can confirm that entries for the Sync Awards 2018 are now open.

Our prestigious Sync Awards – once again celebrating the best sync individuals, teams and placements across a broad range of media over the past 12 months – return for their fifth year, and will take place on October 18 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London. We are delighted to once again be working with the UK & European Guild of Music Supervisors in their position as Association Partner for the event, which honours the sterling work done by labels, publishers, broadcasters, agencies and music supervisors in the field.

The entry process for the Music Week Sync Awards 2018 is now open, which means it's your opportunity to put forward your best work for the year and highlight the achievements of you and your company to the sync industry. All entries must be completed and submitted by August 2, 2018.

Last year was our biggest Sync Awards yet, so make sure you don't miss out on your chance to compete with the best of the best. The eligibility period for submissions should relate to the period July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. Please make sure that your entry only contains evidence of activity that took place during this time frame.

Please note: all entries must be submitted via the www.syncawards.com online entry form. Entries submitted via any other means or format - including email, post and in person delivery - will not be recognised and will be disqualified.

Last year, BBC 6 Music breakfast presenter Shaun Keaveny hosted the Sync Awards Ceremony at 8 Northumberland Avenue. In the Publisher category, Universal Music Publishing triumphed in recognition of syncs including the John Lewis Buster The Boxer Christmas campaign featuring One Day I’ll Fly Away.

Other big winners on the night included Barns Courtney, who was named Sync Artist Of The Year, Bucks Music won the Independent Publisher category, while BT Sport picked up the award for Broadcaster Music Department. Legendary music supervisor Nora Felder collected the award for Overall TV Series Soundtrack, for Stranger Things Series 1 on Netflix.

Overall Sync Of The Year went to Sky's chilling drama Fortitude and its Season 2 Launch featuring Devil Town by Daniel Johnston. You can read the full list of 2017 winners here and also relive the night with our top moments here.

This year will also see the introduction of an all-new award in the fiercely contested TV category courtesy of the Overall TV Series Soundtrack (International) gong, which will honour the finest TV sync work done outside of the UK.
