YouTube Music sponsors Music Week Awards 2019

YouTube Music sponsors Music Week Awards 2019

The Music Week Awards – the biggest and best night out in the music industry calendar – returns to reward the stellar achievements of the UK music biz on Thursday, May 9. With our new venue Battersea Evolution offering an increased capacity and a more versatile room, the stage has already been set for us to put on our best show yet. Yet a huge night needs a suitably huge sponsor. It’s for that reason that we are delighted to announce that Music Week and YouTube Music  will be partnering for this year’s event.

Speaking about the headline sponsorship, Azi Eftekhari, head of YouTube Music partnerships, UK and Ireland, said: "YouTube Music is pleased to sponsor The Music Week Awards 2019. Recognising the labels, publishers, live, retail, A&R and other industry professionals is incredibly important to the UK music community, and YouTube Music is proud to be a part of the celebration. We look forward to honouring all of the winners and nominees."

Music Week editor Mark Sutherland added: “We are delighted to welcome YouTube Music as the sponsor of the 2019 Music Week Awards. The industry’s favourite night out of the year is set for its biggest and best edition yet.”

Entries are now open for the Music Week Awards 2019, but don’t wait around to get your submission in. The clock is ticking, so don’t miss your opportunity to highlight your achievements to the entire industry. The deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday January 16. For those that missed out on the action-packed 2018 ceremony, it attracted a host of the biggest execs and artists in the biz, from Dua Lipa and BBC Radio 1/1Xtra/Asian Network controller Ben Cooper to Annie Mac, Glastonbury's Emily Eavis and UTA's super-agent Neil Warnock.

As ever, the night was overflowing with highlights, from Warner Music Group CEO, recorded music Max Lousada collecting The Strat – the special award that recognises an industry icon and pioneer – to Ed Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp, of Grumpy Old Management, being named Manager Of The Year. Elsewhere, Atlantic, Polydor, Sony/ATV, Spotify and Glastonbury were among the big winners.
