Kobalt has taken over David Guetta's back catalogue in a worldwide agreement that includes publishing administration, including global sync and creative support services
The DJ, songwriter and producer has sold more than nine million albums and 30 million singles worldwide, while his music has been streamed over eight billion times through all DSPs and he won two Grammy Awards in the category of Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical (2010 and 2011).
His catalogue includes hits such as I Gotta Feeling, Titanium, Sexy Bitch, 2U, Dangerous, One Last Time, Without You, Turn Me On and Hey Mama.
Kobalt founder and CEO Willard Ahdritz said: “David’s track record speaks for itself. He’s a rare breed – a global superstar who’s worked with the world’s biggest artists and created hit after hit. David and his business manager, Jean-Charles, have built an amazing collection of great music over the past 15 years and it will continue to live on for years to come. It’s an honor to represent his music as part of the Kobalt family.”
President and chief revenue officer of Kobalt, Laurent Hubert, added: “David Guetta is a visionary and seminal artist, DJ, and pioneer with a magnificent catalogue and a history of incredible collaborations.”
Guetta has released six studio albums, including One Love, which was nominated for a Best Dance/Electronic Album Grammy in 2010. His seventh studio album will be released this year.
“We’ve built and cherished this catalogue over more than 15 years,” said Jean-Charles Carré, Guetta’s business manager and partner, and I’m delighted to transmit it on to the expert hands of Kobalt.”
