WHAT: Fuzzy, soulful melodies and wandering bass. Bedtime music for stoners, perhaps?

WHERE: Peng grew up in Bermondsey, moved to Hastings and later spent time in Mexico,  which was central to her sound.

SOUNDS FANTASTICAL...

Spot on. Peng's songs exist in an addled haze, as informed by Lauryn Hill as by grimy clubs. Percussion adds extra earthiness.

CAN I HEAR IT?

You bet. Her synthy six-track Sensi EP is out now. Over just 20 minutes, it gives a full flavour of an intriguing new sound from the capital.
