Fred Perry launches music grant for unsigned acts

Fred Perry has grated a new grant to help an unsigned music artists.

The clothing brand will fund one act though its just launched Fred Perry X Nicholas Daley Music Grant.

The successful applicant will receive studio time at London's Metropolis Studios plus brand and campaign management support as part of the grant.

“Music is the unifying force between our brands and plays a key role in each collaboration collection," said designer Daley of the initiative.

"That is why during a time when the music industry is under great threat we decided to pull together and offer the music grant to support the next generation of musicians here in the UK. I have pulled together a diverse and experienced judging panel who will bring their expertise within the industry to select our grant winner and I am looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition."

Applications for the grant will be assessed by a five-strong panel including musicians Obongjayar and Nabihah Iqbal, Mixmag’s Seb Wheeler and DJs Zakia Sewell and Don Letts.

Fred Perry currently has a partnership with London venue the 100 Club (pictured), plus has staged its own musical events under its Subculture banner in the past.
