Independent labels rights body Merlin is to sponsor the International Woman Of The Year Award at the 2018 Music Week Women In Music Awards.
The fifth edition of the awards take place on the afternoon of Friday, November 9, at The Brewery in London.
"As a member-led organisation focused on creating a heathy future for our global membership, Merlin is inherently supportive of a diverse, dynamic future-facing industry both in major and emerging markets," said Merlin CEO Charles Caldas (pictured). "In that spirit we are delighted to be able to celebrate excellence and leadership in the International sphere by sponsoring this year’s International Woman Of The Year award, and look forward to seeing the winner revealed at the ceremony in November."
Kobalt's president of global creative Sas Metcalfe won the inaugural International Woman Of The Year award at last year's ceremony. To nominate her successor - or someone in any of the other categories - head over to the Women In Music website.
The deadline for entries to this year’s Women In Music Awards is August 13. Full details for the criteria of each award are here and entries must be submitted online via the website.
This year’s ceremony includes a new category of Music Creative, for a woman in the UK industry who has made a significant contribution to the making of music behind the scenes through songwriting, studio production or studio technology.
