Music Week Awards 2019 is go! Entries open for our biggest edition yet

Music Week is delighted to announce that entries are now open for the Music Week Awards 2019.

The biggest and best night in the music industry calendar returns to reward the stellar achievements of the UK music biz on Thursday, May 9 at Battersea Evolution, a brand new venue for 2019.

Entering the Music Week Awards 2019 is the biz’s opportunity to highlight its achievements to the entire industry, with next year’s event set to be our biggest yet, with Battersea Evolution offering an increased capacity and a more versatile room to put on our best show yet.

Entering yourself or your company couldn’t be simpler, just click here to start your application process today. There are two new awards this year: Music Consumer Innovation, open to all physical/digital retailers and streaming companies, and Accountancy Firm Of The Year. For full details of the new awards, see the awards website, musicweekawards.com. The deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday January 16 so make sure you use your Christmas downtime wisely – you have to be in it to win it!

An action-packed 2018 ceremony attracted a host of the biggest execs and artists in the biz, from Dua Lipa and BBC Radio 1/1Xtra/Asian Network controller Ben Cooper to Annie Mac, Glastonbury's Emily Eavis and UTA's superagent Neil Warnock.

As ever, the night was overflowing with highlights, from Warner Music Group CEO, recorded music Max Lousada collecting The Strat – the special award that recognises an industry icon and pioneer – to Ed Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp, of Grumpy Old Management, being named Manager Of The Year. Elsewhere, Atlantic, Polydor, Sony/ATV, Spotify and Glastonbury were among the big winners.

Coda’s Alex Hardee indulged us with some stand-up comedy, Kilimanjaro's Stuart Galbraith used the spotlight to scald secondary ticketing, while emotional tributes were paid to both George Michael and Avicii.
