Amazon Music is expanding its free streaming tier.
An ad-supported selection of playlists and stations is now available to Amazon Music customers who do net yet have Prime membership or a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited.
While the ad-supported tier was previously only on Echo devices, it has now expanded to customers using the Amazon Music app on iOS, Android and FireTV, as well as via the desktop interface online.
The free tier has been expanded for users in the US, UK and Germany. Playlists available include All Hits, Fuego Latino and Country Heat.
However, the aim is for the free tier to act as a funnel to the Amazon subscription services, including the new HD music streaming service.
YouTube Music launched a limited free service for Google Home speakers earlier this year.
