Amazon's Music's Paul Firth signs up to Music Week Tech Summit

Amazon Music UK director Paul Firth has been confirmed as the latest industry executive to join the line-up of speakers at the Music Week Tech Summit together with O2.

The second edition of the Tech Summit takes place at The O2 on Tuesday, October 8.

Firth has signed up for the second edition just as Amazon Music has launched its free tier of music streaming in the UK for Alexa-enabled speakers. Amazon Music and Alexa won the Consumer Innovation category at the Music Week Awards in May.

Firth will be appearing on a keynote panel discussion on ‘content, context and community’, alongside Warner Records’ head of digital Sebastian Simone, Cantine founder Marla Altschuler and FanBytes CEO Timothy Armoo. The speakers will provide insights on how technology is helping the music industry to create new opportunities, how voice is changing the way consumers engage with music and the role of smart devices in creating personalised music experiences.

Other confirmed speakers for the Summit include Jackie Wilgar, SVP, marketing at Live Nation, Josh Nicoll, head of independent label services at SoundCloud and Cliff Fluet, MD of Eleven and partner at Lewis Silkin.
