Apple Music has reached 60 million subscribers.
The figure was confirmed by the company following comments in the French media by Eddy Cue, SVP of services for Apple.
The 60 million total includes users accessing the streaming platform on a trial. It’s the first official update in a year – the last subscriber figure was 50m.
Apple Music trails Spotify’s 100m subscribers, though the US tech giant is said to be ahead in the US, a key market in the streaming battle.
Apple and Spotify are currently in dispute over fees charged by the former's App Store.
