Deezer has made two senior appointments in a bid to bolster its global leadership team.
Jorge Rincon has been named vice president of North America and Phil Moore has been appointed vice president of Southern Europe and MEA. The two new hires have been recruited to drive further growth for Deezer during a period of rapid business expansion.
Rincon, vice president for North America joins Deezer at a crucial time, with the music streaming service recently having launched in the US. Bringing a wealth of executive and sector experience across the digital and mobile sectors, Rincon will be responsible for overseeing all operations in North America and Canada, including the expansion of its partner network, which is comprised of brands including Sonos, Bose and Cricket.
Prior to Deezer, Rincon served as director of digital roducts and business development for international telecommunications and media company Millicom, in addition to serving as COO of Adsmovil, where he led the US Hispanic and Latin America Markets, CEO of LatCel and COO of US and Latin American mobile portal StarMedia Networks.
“The US music streaming market is an extremely interesting and competitive space and one that is ripe for the taking,” Rincon said. “Deezer has a huge opportunity to expand its offering and grow its user base and I am thrilled to be the person who will be responsible for driving that forward.”
Moore, meanwhile, brings with him over 25 years’ experience in the telecoms and consumer electronics market. He will be responsible for implementing new processes to drive business efficiencies in the region as part of an aggressive growth strategy.
Joining the brand from Huawei Technologies, Moore managed the transformation of the O2 Telefonica business, as well as working extensively with network providers and retailers such as Vodafone, Palm and Microsoft.
