Deezer has announced the integration of Google Home into its streaming platform. Using the voice activation functionality in Google Home’s speaker, Deezer listeners will now be able to play tracks with voice commands.
Premium+ subscribers can use their Google Home device to create a more personalised music experience. Deezer’s Flow system creates a personal soundtrack that uses smart data and algorithms along with personal recommendations from editors.
“Technology today has evolved from a one-way communication to a reciprocated relationship,” said Riad Hawa, VP hardware partnerships, Deezer. “So it’s no wonder that we want to feel as close to our devices as we do to our personal hobbies and interests, such as music. We are excited to partner with Google to give our listeners a voice activated experience where they can play all their favourite songs, including Flow in the first of many steps for greater personalization.”
Deezer for Google Home is available in Germany and France and will roll out later this year in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
Spotify recently extended Google Home functionality to free users, while Amazon Music has expanded its own voice activation service.
