Deezer has launched the Radio By Deezer app, which enables users to access 30,000 radio stations worldwide.
UK stations available include Absolute Radio, talkSport, BBC Radio, Classic FM and the Kiss Network. Listeners can access global stations from outside of the UK or according to their current location.
The Deezer radio app also syncs with the streaming platform by allowing users to ‘like’ any song they hear from the radio. To listen to tracks again, the app automatically adds the liked songs to the user’s library in the Deezer music streaming service.
The subscription-free app, without additional adverts, is available for free on the Android store. An iOS version is due soon.

Our easy to use app provides fast access to their favourite stations, all with an undisturbed, ad-free listening experience. Gone are the days of thinking it’s too late to get the song you just heard on the radio. Now with just a quick tap you can add it straight to your library.”
Deezer connects 14 million monthly active users around the world to 53 million tracks. Although it lags well behind Spotify’s 200m-plus users, it is established in more markets with availability in more than 180 countries.
BBC Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper recently suggested streaming platforms were “soulless”.
