Ellie Goulding, Ingrid Michaelson and Jason Mraz have recorded Christmas songs for Amazon.
The new releases, part of the online retailer's series, are available now and include Goulding's cover of Joni Mitchell’s River and a new season track called Christmas Valentine from Michaelson and Mraz.
“I have always loved Joni Mitchell she was one of the first female artists that made me want to be a singer. She is one of the greatest songwriters of all time and I just truly hope that I have done this song some justice,” said Goulding. “There’s something so magical about these lyrics. It’s just such a beautiful poignant description of winter time and Christmas time and [even though] she was living in California, it wasn’t very snowy but all she wanted was a river to skate away on and that imagery is just so beautiful and powerful to me.”
The songs, along with previous festive tracks from Katy Perry, Aloe Blacc, Nina Nesbitt and more, are available via all of Amazon Music’s tiers, including ad-supported free streaming on select Echo devices, Prime Music, Amazon Music Unlimited and Amazon Music HD.
Amazon Music UK launched free streaming via its Alexa devices earlier this year.
