Merlin x Jaxsta
Music credit database Jaxsta has entered into a commercial access agreement with Merlin, granting it a partnership deal with the digital licensing agency and its participating members.
Jacqui Louez Schoorl, Jaxsta’s CEO, said: "We are very excited to announce this important partnership with Merlin. The independent music industry has supported our journey from the beginning, and we have been proud to support independent music through a myriad of initiatives including our memberships with A2IM, AIM and AIR. To be able to represent the wider community via a partnership with Merlin is a dream come true.”
AIM high
ICMP has partnered with AIM (Association of Independent Music) to sponsor the Music Business and Entrepreneurship Scholarship. The scholarship winner will be given access to their one-year course free of charge.
“We are delighted to partner with AIM to provide this golden opportunity for a motivated and talented individual who has a passion for music business but perhaps hasn’t quite known where to start,” ICMP executive Paul Kirkham said.

Lizzo has announced her Cuz I Love You Too European tour. The dates will see the Juice and Truth Hurts singer perform in nine cities across Europe, including a date at O2 Academy Brixton (November 6) and O2 Academy Glasgow (November 8).
The singer received a charts boost following her Glastonbury performance.
João Gilberto (1931-2019)
The death of influential Brazillian musician João Gilberto was confirmed Saturday (July 6) after a period of illness. He was 88.
The singer and composer was best known as a pioneer of the bossa nova genre, which found international popularity in the 1960s. In 1964, he recorded an album with American saxophone player Stan Getz that featured the hugely successful Girl from Ipanema. Their collaboration won four Grammys.
