Atlantic UK is celebrating securing the Top 3 on Shazam’s Global Top 100.
Ed Sheeran’s Perfect was the most Shazamed track in the world this week. It first topped the Shazam chart in November and has been No.1 on 15 occasions since then.
Friends by Anne-Marie and Marshmello is at No.2 on the chart, followed by Rudimental’s These Days featuring Atlantic label mates Jess Glynne and Dan Caplen, as well as Macklemore.
Rudimental have been battling Drake for the UK No.1 single on the Official Singles Chart. Atlantic had three other songs in the sales Top 10 last week - Portugal The Man’s Feel It Still, This Is Me from The Greatest Showman OST and Friends.
Ben Cook, president, Atlantic Records UK, said: “At its most potent, music drives people to know immediately what it is. That is a powerful moment of gut reaction – which is evidenced in the Shazam charts. It’s incredible to see Atlantic UK acts hold all Top 3 spots in the Global Chart this week, it’s a huge achievement for our artists Ed, Anne-Marie (alongside Marshmello), Rudimental, Jess Glynne and Dan Caplen who have made such compelling music and the impressive teams here at the label and around the world.”
Julian Marshall, global head of content, Shazam, added: "Ed Sheeran has been in a league of his own on the Shazam charts so far this year - Perfect has been No.1 worldwide for fifteen of the last nineteen weeks. Friends now has more than 1.2 million Shazams and sits in the US Top 20, while These Days is performing well across Europe. It's in Italy, Germany and the UK we're seeing the strongest chart positions."
