Jonas Blue has been revealed as Vevo’s second Lift artist of 2017.
Launched in 2011, Lift is geared towards boosting emerging talent, and previous artists featured in the programme include Sam Smith, James Bay and Years & Years.
Blue’s most recent predecessor was Rag’N’Bone Man, whose debut album Human was released in February and is fast-approaching 1 million sales. It has so far shifted 959,399 units, according to the Official Charts Company.
Blue’s biggest-selling single to date is Tracy Chapman rework Fast Car (feat Dakota), which has shifted 1,163,064 copies to date and was nominated for British Video and British Single Of The Year at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The track reached No.2 in the singles chart, as did Perfect Strangers (feat. JP Cooper), which was released last year and has sold 885,576 copies so far. 2016 also saw Blue release By Your Side (feat. Raye), which peaked at No.15 and has sold 423,674 copies.
The DJ/producer’s first video as a Lift artist – a ‘Becoming’ film which will see him tell the story of his musical career so far – will debut on April 25 via vevo.com and the platform’s mobile app.
Subsequent content will include exclusive performances and behind-the-scenes footage, designed to bring fans closer to the Essex-born producer. Vevo will announce further Lift artists throughout this year.
