JP Cooper is the latest artist to feature in Vevo’s Lift programme, which focuses on fresh talent in the UK.
The Island Records artist – who’s compared to Nick Drake and Sam Cooke in the latest issue of Music Week – is the penultimate Vevo Lift act of 2017. The partnership will include exclusive live performances and behind-the-scenes videos filmed in his hometown of Manchester.
Starting with an interview exploring his musical identity, Vevo will then roll out videos of performances of tracks from his debut album, Raised Under Grey Skies, released via Island on October 6. Cooper has already racked up a billion streams ahead of his debut.
Vevo’s recent Lift artists to feature on the website and mobile app include Rag’N’Bone Man, Jonas Blue and Rat Boy. Launched in 2012, the artist development programme has previously featured Sam Smith, James Bay and Years And Years.
