Koffee's break: Apple Music backs rising reggae star

Apple Music has unveiled Koffee as its latest Up Next artist.

Across Apple Music, the Jamaican-born reggae artist has been featured across several playlists, including Run Tings and Breaking Reggae. Koffee has the No.1 single on the Reggae Song Chart on Apple Music and No.3 on the Reggae Album Chart for her Rapture EP.

She has been Shazamed in 190-plus countries, while her song Toast currently has over half a million Shazams.

“I’m grateful for all the support and love so far,” said Koffee. “It’s a blessing to be named as the first Reggae Artiste in Apple’s Up Next series and I’m excited for what this means for the genre, my country and its culture on a whole!”

Koffee appeared on Julie Adenuga’s Beats 1 show on Apple Music today and premiered Rapture (feat. Govana) on Zane Lowe’s show. On June 13, Koffee will make her late-night US debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as part of Apple Music’s Up Next programme.

“I see myself as a tool that will aid in carrying on reggae music and the reggae legacy,” said Koffee. “My purpose is defined by a higher call.”

Previous Apple Up Next artists included Greta Van Fleet, Khalid, Billie Eilish, Sigrid and Jax Jones.
