Music Made Me Do It podcast launches starring industry trailblazers

A new podcast has launched profiling music industry mavericks and trailblazers.

Music Made Me Do It is hosted by Stuart Stubbs, founder of independent music magazine Loud And Quiet, and produced by Emma Snook (Beats 1, Partisan Records).

Series one is made up of 10 weekly episodes, each with a different guest sharing insights on how they turned their passion into a stellar career.

The line-up includes Oscar-winning producer Paul Epworth (Adele, Paul McCartney, U2), PR guru Barbara Charone (Madonna, Mark Ronson, Foo Fighters), Beggars Group founder Martin Mills, live agent and Paradigm Agency partner Alex Hardee and Solar Management (Four Tet, Nigel Godrich) founder Carol Crabtree.

Other guests include End Of The Road festival founder Simon Taffe, mastering engineer Mandy Parnell, Catalyst Management (Mist, Steel Banglez, Michael Dapaah) founder Guv Singh, songwriter Eg White (Adele, Celine Dion, Will Young) and Chris Swanson, co-founder of the Secretly Canadian Label Group.

Jane Third, director, DreamTeam and the podcast’s co-producer, said: "I’ve always been a big Loud and Quiet fan, and their podcast Midnight Chats is brilliant. I persuaded Stu there were some pretty amazing stories inside the music industry, and it would be fun to document them. I pulled a few favours, Stu did the hard work and we put this first series together. Every story is fascinating in different ways, but I think Guv Singh’s journey was the one I empathised with the most. Working in music can often feel like being waist deep in freezing cold water trying to grab melting cheesecakes with your bare hands.”

Music Made Me Do It is available on iTunes, Spotify and all major podcast apps.
