Spotify’s global programming head of hip-hop Tuma Basa has exited the company.
Basa is curator of the RapCaviar playlist, which has almost nine million followers.
"Tuma has been an incredible asset to the RapCaviar team, and we thank him for his contributions," Spotify said in a statement. "The RapCaviar team, which is rapidly expanding with boots on the ground globally, is committed to building the brand and giving its users the best hip hop experience on the platform."
Spotify also confirmed RapCaviar tour dates in the US featuring artists Migos and 2 Chainz. The company staged an Alexandra Palace gig inspired by its UK playlist Who We Be last year.
Basa’s departure announcement comes as the company filed its IPO in the US.
