Tidal partners with Facebook virtual reality platform Oculus

Streaming platform Tidal has revealed it is partnering with Facebook’s virtual reality platform Oculus to bring live music performances to the Venues app on Oculus Quest and Tidal.

The collaboration will see a livestream series launch which is set to include immersive concerts with music’s biggest names. Fans can expect a renewed livestream experience as Tidal and Oculus aim to make it feel like you are standing in the crowd.

Tidal COO, Lior Tibon, said: “At a time when livestreamed performances are seen as the new norm, TIDAL’s partnership with Oculus provides music lovers an elevated concert experience with more interaction and dimension than past livestreams. Oculus is revolutionizing the live music experience and matched with TIDAL’s HiFi audio quality, members will be able to remember what it feels like to stand in a large crowd at a concert venue.”

Through Tidal fans have also been offered access to meet and greets, concerts and listening events with the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Anderson. Paak, Future and Jennifer Lopez among others.

All performances in the livestream series will be available in Venues and Tidal, and are offered in virtual reality and 2D.
