Record labels have until 6pm on Friday, May 25 to submit entries for the 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize.

The award is open to eligible albums from British or Irish bands and artists released between July 22, 2017 and July 20, 2018. Interested record labels should contact: entries@mercuryprize.co.uk

The shortlist of 12 albums of the year will be announced at a launch event on July 26.

The BBC will broadcast the 2018 awards show, which takes place on September 20 at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.

Sampha triumphed at last year’s ceremony with his debut album Process. All nominated artists performed with the exception of Ed Sheeran.

Previous winners include Suede, Klaxons, Benjamin Clementine, Elbow and Arctic Monkeys.
