Australian rock label UNFD eyes major UK expansion

Australian record label UNFD has spoken to Music Week about its expansion plans for the UK market.

The Aussie rock label is currently ramping up its activities in both the UK and Europe, having assembled a UK team last year in a bid to grow its reach in the territory.

Former Rock Sound editor Ben Patashnik is heading up operations on UK shores, while CEO Jaddan Comerford is leading the company from Australia.

The company has recently introduced new releases from the likes of Hellions, Storm The Sky, The Brave and Columbus, while continuing to build on catalogue sales and streams from the likes of In Hearts Wake, Northlane, Deez Nuts, The Amity Affliction, Crossfaith and Hacktvist.

It has also recently opened a new direct to customer store through Music Glue and Remedy Fulfillment. The store has a core focus on pre-orders and rare LPs, most of which have never previously been available in the UK or Europe.

According to Comerford, the company is now better placed than ever to both grow its roster and help develop the profiles of its existing artists.

“Under the direction of Ben we are continuing to grow our presence and footprint in the UK and across Europe,” he commented. “Most excitingly we continue to sign and develop our acts globally and present amazing new releases.”
