Leading execs have been debating the viability of the market for Best Ofs, as Official Charts Company data shows that just two releases this year made the 2017 Top 100 albums.
Up to Week 48 on the albums chart, Music Week analysis shows that the only artist collections from 2017 to make the rundown were Vera Lynn’s 100, at No.46 on sales of 104,504, and Elvis Presley’s The 50 Greatest Hits, at No.98 on sales of 63,253.
