Sony Music has scored simultaneously chart-toppers on the Singles, Albums and Airplay listings as Elvis Presley becomes the most successful solo artist in UK album chart history with his 13th No.1.
Presley’s The Wonder Of You debuted at the top with sales of 63,505 and moved him ahead of Madonna’s 12 No.1 albums. The Beatles remain overall albums champs with 15 No.1s. Presley’s previous album, 2015’s If I Can Dream, has sold 1,062,457 copies to date, according to the Official Charts Company.
In addition, Sony scored the No.1 single with Little Mix’s Shout Out To My Ex holding onto the top spot with sales of 111,816 – the ninth week in a row that Sony have released the No.1 single.
And James Arthur’s Say You Won’t Let Go, itself a former Singles Chart No.1, moves to the top of the Airplay Chart.
Jason Iley, chairman and CEO, Sony Music UK and Ireland, said: “It always starts with our artists and I would like to congratulate each and every one of them. We are incredibly lucky to be working with such great music. I would also like to congratulate all the Sony labels, who are always so brilliant in helping to realise our artists’ vision.”
