The BPI has announced that six candidates have put their names forward for election to the BPI Council as Independent representatives.
The Council is the key forum for formulating BPI policy and activity. The BPI AGM and elections take place at their County Hall offices on September 7. Nicola Mendelsohn, VP EMEA Facebook, has been confirmed as this year’s keynote address.
Two of the six places on the BPI Council designated for Independent representation have become vacant after Henry Semmence (Absolute Label Services) and Katy Ellis (Anglo Management) stood down by rotation. Semmence is standing again in this election.
Details and video manifestos for each of the candidates are available for BPI members to view on the members’ section of the BPI website.
The six candidates are:
Alice Dyson-Jones, commercial director, One Media IP
Ammo Talwar, chief executive, Punch Records
Henry Semmence, owner, Absolute Marketing & Distribution Ltd
Kay Heath, label manager, Jeepster Records
Mark-Christopher Lee, managing director, Nub Music
Miguel Payne, chief executive, Payne Records
Having also stepped down on rotation, Max Lousada, CEO Recorded Music for Warner Music Group, and Nicola Tuer, COO Sony Music UK, are re-standing to fill two of the six places designated to majors on the BPI Council that are currently vacant.
