Caroline International announces new UK label head

Nicola Spokes has been appointed as UK label head of Caroline International.

Spokes will leave her position as marketing director at Ministry Of Sound, where she has been for 15 years, starting off in its international department and overseeing campaigns for a list of acts including Example and London Grammar.

Spokes will take up her new role next April, following the departure of Emma Greengrass, who is moving on to Wildlife Entertainment to become managing director.

Commenting on her new role, Spokes said: “Michael [Roe] and Jim [Chancellor] have assembled an exceptionally strong team at Caroline International and in the short space of three years have built a very successful business providing an exceptional service to a diverse and high profile roster of artists. Leaving Ministry Of Sound after 15 years with the company and 7 years working in the artist label with David Dollimore and Dipesh Parmar, whom I have a huge amount of love and respect for, was a really difficult decision but joining Caroline International as UK label head is a great opportunity, and I'm really excited to become part of the team in April."

Caroline International’s joint managing director Roe added: “We’re all sad to be losing Emma but delighted that she’s entering into a new stage of her career and we wish her all the very best. Initially Emma leaving felt like a big hole at Caroline International but then we met Nicola. Jim and I pinched ourselves; she’s just tremendous. Massively experienced, brimming with ideas and with an innate understanding of the importance of managing relationships in an artist/label service role. She will bring a wonderful new energy and dynamic to the UK team."

Caroline International is Universal Music Group’s global label services company, providing artist and label services to a range of independent labels including Glassnote, Communion, Wolftone and Dine Alone. The company’s campaign history includes Van Morrison, Iggy Pop, Glass Animals, Travis, David Brent, St Vincent, Gaz Coombes and Mystery Jets.
