Cassandra Gracey has been confirmed as president of 4th Floor Creative Group, a new department at Sony Music UK that brings together all the major’s creative disciplines.
As exclusively revealed in the latest issue of Music Week, Gracey joins Sony Music after more than 15 years working in management for Sarah Stennett’s First Access Entertainment, most recently as EVP of UK and Europe. Gracey reports directly to Jason Iley, chairman and CEO of Sony Music UK & Ireland.
In her new role heading up the freshly launched department, Gracey oversees all of the creative disciplines - comprising brands, sync, insight, creative and digital - across Sony Music UK.
Iley said: “I’ve always wanted to work with Cassandra, who is a highly respected, dynamic executive and I’m delighted she has agreed to join the management team at Sony Music UK. Her huge personality, determination and creative vision are a huge asset to our company.”
Gracey added: “I am grateful for the opportunity that Jason has given me to be leading a passionate, diverse and exciting team of people working within 4th Floor Creative. I am confident that our combined skills will contribute hugely to Sony’s ongoing success.”
Gracey now heads up a 60-strong team combining the creative departments from across Sony Music, as the major aims to provide its artists with an “all-encompassing perspective” in an effort to connect with audiences in the streaming era.
The new team has already played its part in the campaign that helped secure George Ezra the fastest-selling No.1 album so far this year. 4th Floor also worked on big branding deals for Paloma Faith and Lady Leshurr, and it has just overseen the commissioning for the video for One Kiss by Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa.
