Insanity Records has appointed Alastair Kinross as head of A&R. He will start with immediate effect and report into Andy Varley, president of Insanity Records.
Kinross joins Insanity – which has a JV with Sony Music – from Sony/ATV, where he was senior A&R manager. He has more than 10 years’ publishing experience, having previously worked as creative manager and UK/LA writer relations executive at BMG, and A&R at San Remo Publishing.
His signings include MIA, JNR Williams, Levi Lennox (Zayn), EY (Drake, Swae Lee), Electric (Jess Glynne, Little Mix), ADP (Chris Brown, Yungen) and ZieZie.
Varley said: “I am delighted to welcome Alastair to Insanity Records. He is a strategic creative with a proven track record, and he is perfectly placed to drive our artist development forward.”
Kinross said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Insanity Records and thank Andy, Alice [Beal, GM] and the current roster for their faith in me. This is a really exciting time in the development of the label and I look forward to working with the team to take it to the next stage.”
Insanity has enjoyed No.1 album success with Craig David, and a Top 5 breakthrough from Tom Grennan. The label is also home to new artists Joy Crookes and JNR Williams.
