Hyundai Mercury Prize confirms key dates for 2019

The Hyundai Mercury Prize has confirmed its dates for 2019.

The album prize ceremony will return on September 19 at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith. It will be the 28th edition of the awards and will again feature live performances from many of the shortlisted artists.

Wolf Alice proved popular winners on the night last year for their sophomore album Visions Of A Life (Dirty Hit). The LP has sales to date of 76,575, according to the Official Charts Company.

The shortlist of 12 Hyundai Mercury Prize Albums Of The Year for 2019 will be revealed at the launch event on Thursday, July 25.

The 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize will open for entries on Thursday, April 25 and will close at 6pm on Wednesday, May 15. Record labels wishing to submit albums can email entries@mercuryprize.co.uk to receive more information.

Albums by British or Irish artists released July 21, 2018 and July 19, 2019 (inclusive) are eligible for entry, although submissions must be received by 15 May 2019.

Broadcast partner BBC Music will be providing live television and radio coverage on BBC Four and BBC Radio 6 Music.

The 2019 digital partner has yet to be confirmed.
