The London Symphony Orchestra have digital distribution with PIAS, which includes a new home within Apple Music.

The organisation’s in house label LSO Live, plus its family of labels which includes Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, Mariinsky, and Colin Currie Records, have signed a global agreement with the music group.

Following the conclusion of the deal the LSO’s label ran one of its biggest campaigns, focusing on tours in the USA and China, events in London and the creation of a new playlist hub at Applemusic.com/lso.

“We’re delighted to add LSO Live’s digital business to our portfolio of pre-eminent classical labels and repertoire,” explained PIAS’ Chief Digital Officer Adrian Pope.

“I cannot speak highly enough of the LSO Live team and their positive approach to expanding their audience through digital media. We’re in exciting times both in terms of evolving digital media as well as the next chapter for the LSO under [conductor] Simon Rattle. We’re very much looking forward to driving innovative and dynamic global digital campaigns together and having some fun along the way.”

PIAS recently spoke to Music Week about their digital plans, with MD Jason Rackham praising their partnerships with Apple Music in particular, suggesting: “Apple has really thrown its hat into the ring to help develop the independent sector and help support what we do from a marketing and content perspective.”
