Mark Fry named vice president, Warner Music Nordics

Mark Fry has today (August 28) been appointed to the newly created post of vice president, Warner Music Nordics. Fry will also continue to serve as managing director of Warner Music Finland and operate out of the company’s Helsinki office.

According to an official press release, in this role he will work with Warner Music Nordics president Jonas Siljemark to support their “teams across the region in some of the world’s most advanced digital markets.”

Fry began his career at Warner Music Finland in 1997 before leaving to found Miidia, a digital rights management company, in 2001. He proceeded to join Sony Music Finland as marketing director in 2004 and returned to Warner Music Finland in 2008. He was appointed managing director of Warner Music Finland in 2017 where he has enjoyed success with artists including Alma, Antti Tuisku, Cheek, Ellinoora, Kaija Koo and Sanni.

Fry also played a decisive role in Warner Music’s acquisition of Finland’s rap and hip-hop specialist independent label Monsp Records earlier this year.

Speaking about his appointment, Mark Fry said: “I’m honoured that Jonas has placed his trust in me to help him support our artists and grow our business across the Nordics. This is an exciting time for us as we’re taking advantage of new opportunities to super serve our artists and connect them even more deeply with fans.”

Jonas Siljemark added: “Mark Fry is doing an amazing job leading our business in Finland and I wanted to tap his expertise for our wider business across the Nordics too. He’s a completely artist-focused exec who understands how to help acts cut through in today’s attention economy.”
